Gifting someone is like printing your name somewhere in his heart. It gives feel of affection and belongingness. Next time he need to buy some product, it is obvious that you will be in his mind at first. Thats how products are promoted. It is business but with the feel of being affectionate.
It is not meant for business only. In general life also we gift someone to gain his favour. Pleasing someone is best method to have his attention.

Quality of the gift should always be of high quality coz it indicates the company in it
Imagine if the gift which u gave was faulty the impact on ur company will also be the same soooo this is a major issue with all the sectors

What a great idea to use disposable cameras with your name printed on it as a way to do a promotional gift. The concept is a new one for me and yet so innovative. I think this method would be really effective.

@Oli: hahaha, thats great. I really like the idea of using a tooth brush though. People are always in need of useful items, why not fill their needs and get some good advertising at the same time. Good ideas man!

Santosh, you are a bit generous … Free giving of I pods could actually happen, but I think it should affect just a small group of carefully sorted customers - those who frequently use the company’s travel services.
The other clients could be satisfied with something small,yet useful, depending on the travel destination, weather conditions at the moment, etc.

Agreed! I don’t know how many times this has happened to me, and it’s exasperating, because you begin to figure any gift from a company will be, pardon the term, but crap.

I do remember one instance, however, where a friend of mine received a small company travel package during a business trip. One of the items was a toothbrush with the company logo and the flossing stick. He loved those, and made sure he took them on every subsequent business trip. He said it was the only useful thing he had ever gotten in a free gift. Mostly because he always forgot his toothbrush.

That’s an excellent point you picked up i completely agree with wat u said in the above post if the company promotes something which is faulty it also makes a huge negative impact on the promotion as well as the company’s Image and surely it will be a huge drawback to the company

I agree that promotional gifts which are used for traveling are like walking advertisements for the company. However, they need to make sure that this products are of the best quality because if it easily breaks that would also reflect to the company itself. People would be dismayed also on the company printed on the product.

There are a wide variety of products that you can use as a promotional gift item to travelers that would suit their Best needs especially when the company has branch offices and the people are frequent visitors to the place u can actually give them Ipods as nowadays they are very cheap and caters to all the people no matter which country they belong to
